Rules of Flippycups

Refer to the diagram, where each numbered circle refers to a player.

Setup
1. Four team members to each side of the table. At no time may a player reach across the center line of the table. If there is a question as to the amount of beer in an opponent's cup, please ask the judge.
2. Official Tournament beer cups must be used by all players.
3. All cups must be filled to the cup's bottom line. Foam/Head does not count, liquid must reach the bottom line of the cup. More beer than required is at the discretion of the participant.
4. A flip of the coin shall decide which side of the table starts the game.
5. A pitcher of beer must be filled to the designated line and placed in the middle of the table. (Suggestion: The pitcher should hold at least 4 full beers. )

Game Play
1. The game is started when the two starting players, 1 and 5 in the diagram, touch cups over the center line of the table.
2. After cups are touched, players 1 and 5 must finish their beer, and set the cup down on the table, narrow end down. You will need to have the cup partially off the end of the table.
3. Players must then flip the cup using one finger, so the cup lands with the narrow side up. If the cup does not land narrow side up, that player may pick up the cup with the same hand used to flip, replace the cup with the narrow side down, and flip again. This is repeated until it lands narrow side up. If the cup goes across the center of the table, the player may reach across to retrieve the cup, as long as their reach does not interefere with an opposing player or their cup.
4. After Player 1's cup lands narrow side up, and is still (the entire diameter of the cup is resting on the table. The cup moving on the beer doesn't count as motion.), Player 2 may pick up their beer and finish the contents, repeating the flipping action that Player 1 just did. Same goes for the other side of the table.
5. Play continues until either Player 4 or Player 8 successfully flips the cup, thereby winning the game.
6. A match consists of best-of-three-games. The team that loses the match is responsible for finishing the pitcher of beer amongst them, as well as filling the pitcher and cups for the next game. The pitcher of beer will be drank in anchor man style, with each member drinking only once. If the 4th member of the team to drink does not finish the pitcher, the team must refill the pitcher and drink again, or face tournament elimination.
7. Players may at no time interfere/assist with the drinking or flipping of another player. If it is deemed that assistance was given, the cup will need to be refilled, and the player will need to start the process again. If interference occurs, whether in direct contact, blowing, hitting the player, etc., the team guilty of interference automatically loses that game.

Tournament Play
1. At the Official Flippycups.com tournament, teams will play round-robin style within divisions, with the division leaders entering a bracket style championship.
